Tile leveling system clips

A key component of the wedge tile leveling system is the tile leveling system clip. The levelling system clips perform a two-in-one function, as they act as a spacer joint on the one hand, and on the other hand, they also perform the leveling of tile surfaces to each other! As long as the bottom part of the clips remain under the tiles, the tabs will come off when removed. These need to be replaced at each work process.

The TLS tile leveling system clips are all made from high quality, premium automotive grade material, making the leveling clips sufficiently flexible yet very strong and with high tensile strength. Our tile leveling system clips are available in 7 different joint sizes. The different sizes have a unique colour, which is common to all our leveling product ranges.

Choosing the right size of tile leveling system clip

When choosing the right size of leveling system clip, pay careful attention to the type of tiles or slabs you intend to use, as this will also have a major impact on the joint width.

If you want to achieve a larger joint size, either choose larger leveling system clips with the correct joint size or, if this is not available, use the appropriate size of general spacer joints as an additional option to ensure the desired joint spacing.

In the case of general tiling, in most cases the edges of tiles and floor tiles will not run at right angles (i.e. not at 90°). Thus, the resulting gap on the tiles' surface will always be ~0.5-1 mm larger than the joint size of the selected leveling system clip, as the edges of the tiles will expand upwards from the glue level. It is therefore worth taking this size difference into account when choosing the right size of leveling system clips.

But if you choose a tile that is a so-called rectified tile, the edges run very precisely and straight at 90° to each other. In this case, you can safely choose the same size tile leveling system clip as the joint width you want to achieve. You will not encounter any edge spreading here, so you will be able to keep exactly the same gap width at the tile surface as at the glue level below.
